Bud Dallmann, Founder

Lifelong Head Coach & Founder of the Landa Park Dolphins
American Swimming Coaches Association Certification Level

Born in Two Rivers, WI, Bud Dallmann moved to New Braunfels in 1945 and in 1962 formed the New Braunfels Aquatic Club. He worked as a volunteer coach in the area for more than 50 years and almost as long as an official at local, state, national and international levels. Dallmann introduced automatic timing to Texas and to the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (T.A.A.F.) and he originated, organized, and staged the first major coaching clinic in Texas at Trinity University. He started the swim team at both New Braunfels High School and Canyon High School, and coached three high school all-Americans and seven world and American record holders. As a swimmer, Dallmann medaled at the first World Masters Games in 1985 and the first FINA World Masters Swimming Championships - Tokyo in 1986. He set Masters world records and was named a national top ten Masters swimmer.  (Texas Swimming & Diving Hall of Fame)

Andrew Marsh, Head Coach 

Coach Andrew joins Surge from Lakeside Aquatic Club, where he coached the National Prep and Senior groups from 2021 to 2024. He originally joined LAC in the spring of 2019 as a Site Head Age Group Coach. During his time at LAC, Andrew was recognized as an American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Top 10 Finalist for Age Group Coach of the Year in both 2021 and 2022. He has coached multiple Texas Age Group State (TAGS) champions and record holders.

Prior to LAC, Andrew served as a graduate assistant coach for the Ithaca College Men’s swim team, where he pursued a graduate degree in Sport Psychology. Before Ithaca, Andrew coached in Chicago with NASA Wildcat Aquatics as an Assistant Senior Coach and was also a volunteer assistant coach for Northwestern University’s swim team.

His coaching career began at Club Mountaineer Aquatics in West Virginia where he worked as an Age Group Coach from 2012 to 2016.

Andrew completed his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University, earning a B.S. in Athletic Coaching Education with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology. As a swimmer at WVU, he was a two-time NCAA qualifier, an Olympic Trials qualifier, and set the Big XII record in the 100 backstroke.

Andrew found his love of swimming growing up in Buffalo NY where he swam and played a myriad of sports with his four siblings Megan, Matthew, Mitchell and Adam. In his free time Andrew enjoys plays pickleball with his partner Jenne.  

 

Zoe Skelton, Assistant Head Coach

Coach Zoe brings over four years of competitive swimming coaching experience, spanning both summer league and club programs. Before stepping into her coaching role, Zoe was a dedicated competitive swimmer for nearly nine years, and was a Dolphins swimmer from ages 8-13! This summer will be her 5th year in a row coaching for the Landa Park Dolphins. Throughout her time coaching, Zoe has guided numerous swimmers to TAAF State, and even Nationals meets. Her passion for swimming and commitment to helping young athletes excel has been central to her career, and she is thrilled to continue inspiring and supporting the next generation of swimmers.

 

Zack Siar, Assistant Head Coach    

Coach Zack brings a world of swimming experience and a ton of energy to the Dolphins this summer! He’s been coaching since 2018 and has a strong background in both swimming and sports science.

He’s a former international competitor, winning gold at the Junior African Championships and racing at big meets like the Junior World Championships and NCAA DII Finals. His specialties are breaststroke and IM, and he loves helping swimmers get faster while having fun.

Coach Zack recently earned his Master’s degree in Communication and has a background in coaching, physical training, and nutrition. He’s all about making practices fun, focused, and full of team spirit.

We’re lucky to have him on deck this summer—Go Dolphins! 

 


 

Ben Skinner, Lead Coach

Coach Ben started his swimming career with the Landa Park Dolphins in 2017 and remained with them for three summers. During that time, he qualified for state twice, was a state champion in the 50 Breaststroke, and earned 2nd place at nationals. He then swam for Surge Aquatics and competed for Canyon High School. During his time there, he was 4x District champion in the 100 Breast, 4x regional qualifier, and 3x state qualifier. Since then, he has continued his swim career in Arkansas at Henderson State University. 

 

Chase Starcich, Lead Coach  

Coach Chase has been swimming competitively since he was just 5 years old! He currently swims with Surge Aquatics and swam varsity for Canyon High School. This fall, he’ll be continuing his swim career at the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

This is Coach Chase’s third year coaching, and he loves working with young swimmers to build skills, confidence, and a love for the sport. Outside the pool, you’ll find him fishing, watching sports, or hanging out with his dogs.

   Peyton Carruth, Lead Coach

Coach Peyton is from Lubbock, Texas, and is currently a junior at Texas State University, studying Criminal Justice. She swam competitively for 10 years on both club and high school teams—and now she’s bringing that experience to the Dolphins!

Coach Peyton is all about creating a fun, positive environment while helping swimmers improve their technique and confidence in the water.

We’re pumped to have her on deck this summer!   

 

Macie Baroni, Lead Coach

Macie is a dedicated swimmer with Surge Aquatics and will be attending OSU in the fall. In her spare time, she enjoys doing flips on the trampoline and singing karaoke.

We are excited to have her!

 

Taryn Welch, Lead Coach     

 I’ve been swimming competitively since I was 5 years old, and the sport has been a huge part of my life ever since. I’m excited to continue that journey as I head to Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL this fall to swim on their collegiate team.

This summer, I’m looking forward to building strong connections with all the kiddos and families. I can’t wait to share my love for swimming and help our swimmers grow, both in and out of the pool!

Christopher Finley, Assistant Coach  

Coach Chris has been in the water since he was three years old! After learning to swim through the Love to Swim program, he went on to swim with Storm and later joined Surge Aquatics in 2020.

In 2023, Coach Chris started volunteering with the Dolphins, and by 2024, he officially became an assistant coach. He’s currently a student at Grace Preparatory Academy and brings a positive attitude, great energy, and a love for the sport to every practice.

We’re excited to have Coach Chris back on deck this summer—Go Dolphins!
